Arkansas football starting wide receiver Andrew Armstrong is out for tonight’s game against UAPB at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock (Ark.).
The talented pass-catcher made the trip with the team to Little Rock, but is not dressed out for pregame warmups.
Armstrong, a redshirt senior out of Dallas (Texas), led the Razorbacks in receptions (56), receiving yards (764) and receiving touchdowns (5) last season and is expected to be a go-to target for new starting quarterback Taylen Green in offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino’s system.
The 6-4, 202-pound receiver has been hampered during fall camp by a hamstring injury.
During Wednesday’s SEC weekly teleconference, fifth-year head coach Sam Pittman told media he anticipated Armstrong, who had been participating in recent practices, would be available, but was not guaranteed to play in the opener.
Arkansas and UAPB are set for a 6:30 p.m. (CT) kickoff. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
