The Arkansas Razorbacks (4-2, 2-1 SEC) will host the No. 8 LSU Tigers (5-1, 2-0 SEC) at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback stadium in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 19, with kickoff at 6 p.m. CST.
The Razorbacks are coming off their first bye week following a win over Tennessee, while the Tigers are coming off a thrilling 29-26 overtime win against Ole Miss, setting up for another hard-fought game between the Hogs and Tigers.
What’s at Stake for Arkansas
The Hogs haven’t taken home the Golden Boot since their 16-13 win against the Tigers in 2021. Now sitting at 4-2 on the season, Arkansas is two wins away from becoming bowl eligible after missing the postseason last year. A win would not only move them closer to the six-win mark but would also give the Hogs their second top-10 win of the season.

Keys for the Hogs
Avoiding costly turnovers will be crucial for the Hogs to be successful in this game. Without some unfortunate turnovers, Arkansas could possibly be 6-0 on the season. Playing a turnover free game will give the Razorbacks their best chance on Saturday night. In the win against Tennessee, the Hogs did not commit a turnover, which played a significant role in victory.
Establishing the run game is another key area for the Hogs. With one of the SEC’s top rushers in Ja’Quinden Jackson, it will be important for Arkansas to control the pace of the game, allowing the Razorback defense to rest against LSU’s passing attack.
Getting pressure on LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will also be important. The Tigers have an experienced offensive line and talented wide receivers, so the Hogs will need to make Nussmeier uncomfortable in the pocket. The Arkansas defensive will need to replicate its performance against Tennessee, when they had four sacks, to put the LSU offense in difficult situations.
Keeping quarterback Taylen Green healthy will need to be a priority. While backup quarterback Malachi Singleton scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the game against Tennessee, Green’s experience and dual-threat ability present problems for opposing defenses. The Hogs’ offensive line will need to protect him, allowing him to make big plays with both his arm and legs.
