Arkansas Manhandles Maryland Eastern Shore

No. 19 Arkansas secured a dominant 109-35 win over Maryland Eastern Shore at Bud Walton Arena, with six Razorbacks scoring in double figures.

“If everybody is good no one has to be great,” assistant coach Chin Coleman said. “So, we have a team that we feel like if everybody is good, we don’t have to have someone go in a phone booth put on a cape and be Superman.”

Game Summary

Arkansas guard Boogie Fland opened the scoring on the game’s first possession, and the Razorbacks never surrendered the lead. The offense was highly efficient, shooting 66.7% from the field, 53.8% from three-point range, and 81.8% from the free throw line. The Razorbacks scored more points in the paint during the first half than the Hawks tallied as a team, heading into halftime with a commanding 60-15 lead.

The second half mirrored the first, as Arkansas maintained dominance and cruised to victory. The Razorbacks shot 55.6% from the field, 44.1% from beyond the arc, and 82.4% from the free throw line. In contrast, Maryland Eastern Shore struggled offensively, shooting just 23% from the field, 15.4% from three, and 37.5% from the free throw line, while committing 19 turnovers.

Offensive Fireworks

Arkansas, which struggled offensively early in the season, found its rhythm and maintained intensity throughout the game. The Razorbacks hit a season-high 15 three-pointers and scored 46 points in the paint, 11 more than the Hawks managed overall.

Freshman Karter Knox delivered a standout performance, leading the team with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, along with six rebounds, one assist, and one block. Senior Jonell Davis, quiet earlier in the season, had his best game as a Razorback, scoring 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range and 5-of-8 overall. He also contributed five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.

Boogie Fland once again led as a playmaker, dishing out a team-high six assists while scoring 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting, with five rebounds and a steal. Adou Thiero filled the stat sheet, finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

The Razorbacks will face Illinois in a neutral-site game at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. on CBS.
