What Went Right for Arkansas
Arkansas cleaned up its offensive turnovers, committing just one interception while playing a much cleaner game overall. The Razorbacks’ improved performance was key to their success against a Bulldogs team that played a tight game against No. 14 Texas A&M last week.
The Razorbacks’ rushing attack found its rhythm, with three players finishing with over 70 yards. Freshman running back Braylen Russell had a breakout game, leading the team with 16 carries for 175 yards. Junior Rashod Dubinion added 98 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while Green contributed 79 yards and a rushing touchdown on eight carries.
Green had one of his best games in a Razorback uniform, completing 23 of 29 passes for 314 yards and five touchdowns. He spread the ball effectively, with nine Razorbacks recording receptions. Wide receiver Andrew Armstrong led the team with four catches for 76 yards.
Defensively, Arkansas stepped up, forcing five turnovers and stopping Mississippi State twice on fourth down. Linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr. and defensive back Hudson Clark each had an interception. Clark, Jackson, and defensive lineman Cameron Ball all recovered fumbles.
Kicker Matthew Shipley was perfect, making all three field goals and drilling all seven extra points in an all-around solid performance by Arkansas.
The Razorbacks will now prepare for their next opponent, No. 18 Ole Miss, who is coming off a 26-14 win against Oklahoma. Arkansas will host Ole Miss at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Nov. 2.
