Arkansas Rolls Past North Carolina A&T in Bud Walton Arena

Arkansas extended its winning streak to five with a decisive 95-67 victory over North Carolina A&T in Bud Walton Arena. Seven Razorbacks scored in double figures as the team displayed strong ball movement.

“They played so fast, and you have a lot of opportunities,” head coach John Calipari said. “The great thing for me was we only made a few threes, and we scored a lot of points. It just shows you there are all kinds of ways of doing this.”

Game Summary

The Razorbacks seized the lead on the first possession and never looked back. Despite a quieter night from beyond the arc, Arkansas excelled in other areas, shooting 52.5% from the field, 25% from three-point range, and 90% from the free-throw line in the first half. The Razorbacks’ defense caused problems for the Aggies, who shot just 35.5% from the field, 27.3% from deep, and 46.2% from the foul line. Arkansas dominated the paint, outscoring North Carolina A&T 32-14 in the first half. The Hogs entered the break with a commanding 54-31 lead.

The second half showcased a balanced offensive attack by the Hogs. While Arkansas natives Landon Glasper and Ryan Forrest led the Aggies with a combined 35 points. The Razorbacks finished the game shooting 50% from the field, 25% from three-point range, and 78.9% from the foul line, totaling 26 assists in their 95-67 win.

Who Stood Out for Arkansas

Jonas Aidoo recorded his first double-double as a Razorback and continues to show improvement since returning from an offseason injury. Aidoo led the team with 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block.

Freshman guard Boogie Fland notched the first double-double of his collegiate career, finishing with 12 points, 11 assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Fland has recorded six or more assists in each of his last five games and was one assist shy of a double-double in the previous game against Central Arkansas.

“He’s [Boogie Fland] a five-star guard, and he’s really young,” Aidoo said. “It’s definitely great to play with a player like that. He’s a special player for sure.”

Trevon Brazile provided a spark off the bench, coming close to a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
