Pregame
- Arkansas transfer forward Jonas Aidoo, junior guard Melo Sanchez and freshman guard Jaden Karuletwa are with the team but not dressed out or participating in pregame warmups.
- Arkansas’ Starters: Boogie Fland, DJ Wagner, Karter Knox, Adou Thiero, Zvonimir Ivišić
- TCU’s Starters: Frankie Collins, Noah Reynolds, Brendan Wenzel, Trazarien White, Ernest Udeh
1st Quarter
- TCU opened the scoring with a transition lob to Udeh, but Arkansas quickly answered with a bank-three from Ivišić and a transition slam from Thiero to go up 5-2 just over two minutes into play.
- Johnell Davis was the first sub in the game for Arkansas at the 5:16 mark with a 9-5 lead.
- An 8-0 run by TCU highlighted by threes from Allette and Collins gave the Horned Frogs a 13-11 lead with 2:36 left in the quarter.
- A pair of smooth jumpers, including a three, from Thiero and a corner three from Davis gave Arkansas a brief lead, but a triple from Wenzel just before the horn sent TCU to the end of the quarter with a 20-19 lead.
2nd Quarter
- The two teams traded baskets for the first few minutes of the second quarter. Thiero continued his brilliant play with a powerful And-1 dunk, but TCU answered with a lob slam and the game hit the first break tied 27-27 with 5:56 to go.
- Nice spark from freshman Billy Richmond with an alley-oop dunk and a Trevon Brazile three gave the Hogs a 32-29 lead at the 4:07 mark.
- Arkansas’ freshmen closed the half strong as Karter Knox scored a quick five and Boogie Fland connected on a jumper in the lane to send the Hogs to the break up 39-31.
- Adou Thiero led the Razorbacks with 14 points in the first half. Arkansas shot 5 of 11 from three and dished out 12 assists to just 4 turnovers.
3rd Quarter
- Arkansas turned it over three times in the first two minutes of the third quarter, but TCU was unable to make a dent in the deficit. A runner from Wagner gave the Hogs a double-digit lead for the first time at the 7:30 mark.
- Despite some struggles defending the pick and roll, Arkansas kept a cushion heading into a timeout at the four-minute mark with a 45-38 lead.
- Great stretch from Arkansas with the offense in sync and the defensive intensity at a high level. Another And-1 from Thiero was sandwiched by a heat check three and up-and-under from Davis to push the lead to 54-41 with just under two minutes to go in the quarter.
- No sooner than Arkansas appeared to be pulling away, TCU closed the quarter on an 8-0 run to send the game to the fourth quarter 54-49.
4th Quarter
- The fatigue was evident for Arkansas and TCU continued to chip away, cutting the lead to 56-54 with another three at the 7:46 mark.
- Arkansas had a couple big moments as Fland buried a jumper and Ivišić threw down a dunk, but the Horned Frogs continued to answer as the game went to the final five minutes with the Hogs clinging to a 60-58 lead.
- Arkansas got a big three from Fland and a put-back by Brazile, but TCU continued to respond to keep it at a one-possession game. After a wild back and forth sequence of blocked shots and turnovers, Calipari called a timeout with 1:30 remaining and the Hogs up 65-63.
- TCU hit a go-ahead three by Wenzel, and Calipari called a timeout with 5.9 seconds remaining and Arkansas down one.
- TCU fouled twice with two to give and Fland’s last second shot fell short, giving TCU the comeback win, 66-65.
