Arkansas will hit the road to face Miami in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 3 after falling 90-77 to Illinois in the Thanksgiving Hoops Showcase.

Previewing Miami

The Hurricanes, 3-1 at home this season, started strong with a three-game win streak but have since dropped their last four contests. Their losses include an 0-3 showing in the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic against Drake, Oklahoma State, and VCU, as well as an 83-79 home defeat to Charleston Southern.

Miami ranks fourth in the ACC in scoring, averaging 83.7 points per game while shooting 50% from the field. This offensive output surpasses Arkansas’ defensive average of 63.6 points allowed per game. Senior guard Nijel Pack leads the Hurricanes with 15.2 points and 4.7 assists per game, shooting 48.4% from the field. Senior forward Brandon Johnson leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per game while also leading the Hurricanes with one steal and 0.9 blocks per game.

Previewing Arkansas

The Razorbacks will play their first true road game of the season after two neutral-site losses. Arkansas averages 80.6 points per game and typically outpaces opponents by 17 points per game. They aim to rebound from their loss to Illinois, where scoring inconsistency hurt the team.

Forward Adou Thiero has been a standout, leading Arkansas in scoring 19.1 points per game, in rebounds with 5.9, and in steals with 2.9. Another big performance will be crucial as the team searches for a stronger offensive rhythm.

Freshman guard Boogie Fland, second in team scoring, struggled against Illinois, shooting 2-for-12 from the field and 0-for-3 from three-point range, while foul trouble limited him to 25 minutes. Fellow freshman guard Billy Richmond III provided a spark off the bench in the Illinois game, scoring 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting, along with four rebounds and two steals.
