The Diamond Hogs are coming off an entertaining sweep over Charlotte last weekend and will host Louisiana-Monroe for a two-game midweek series. The Warhawks are coming off a 1-2 series loss against Missouri State.
Previewing Louisiana-Monroe
ULM is hitting .265 as a team this season, with Bryce Blaser leading the way at .429 in 35 at-bats. Colby Lunsford and Jackson Landry lead the Warhawks with two home runs each. While Jake Haggard, who has started all 10 games, has a team-high 13 RBIs.
On the mound, the Warhawks have a 5.42 ERA and have held opponents to a .246 batting average. Brennan Eager started a midweek game earlier this season against Grambling State, pitching four innings with a 1.00 ERA, allowing two hits while walking two and striking out seven in the win.
Previewing the Hogs
Arkansas is off to a strong 10-1 start and is now ranked No. 3 in the country. In the Charlotte series, the Razorbacks pulled off several close wins with timely hitting, scoring 23 runs across the three games.
Leading the offense has been Kuhio Aloy, who is batting .556 on the season and leads the team in hits, RBIs, home runs and doubles. As a team, the Hogs are swinging the bats well with a .305 average through the first 11 games, and continued production at the plate will be key as the season progresses.
Starting pitchers for the Hogs
Colin Fisher will start Game 1 on Tuesday. Fisher has made three appearances this season with a 2.25 ERA in four innings, allowing three hits and striking out six. Ben Bybee will start Wednesday’s game, his second start of the year. Bybee has a 4.50 ERA in four innings, allowing three hits and striking out two.
