The Hogs return home for interim coach Bobby Petrino’s first game back at Razorback Stadium since 2012. Last week, Arkansas gave No. 12 Tennessee a scare in a narrow 34-31 road loss. Now, the Razorbacks prepare to host undefeated No. 4 Texas A&M in a pivotal SEC matchup.
Previewing Texas A&M
The Aggies’ defense has been one of the best in the SEC this season, allowing the fifth-fewest yards per game. They’ve also been dominant up front, ranking third in the conference with 21 sacks. Defensive end Cashius Howell leads the SEC with seven sacks, and the Hogs’ offensive line will need to rise to the challenge to keep him out of the backfield.
On offense, Texas A&M is led by quarterback Marcel Reed, who ranks fifth in the SEC in passing yards. Arkansas will need to limit Reed’s time in the pocket to have a shot at an upset. Wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion have been key playmakers, ranking first and third in the SEC in receiving yards with 557 and 401, respectively.
With rain in the forecast, both teams are expected to lean on the running game. The Aggies will be without starting running back Le’Veon Moss, leaving Rueben Owens II as the lead back after recording 51 yards and a touchdown last week. Arkansas will also need to contain Reed, who is a capable runner when plays break down.

Previewing the Hogs
The Hogs’ defensive line took a hit before this game, with now Danny Saili and David Oke both ruled out. In a matchup likely to be decided in the trenches, others will have to step up. Arkansas’ defense has struggled all season, ranking last in the SEC in rushing yards allowed and second to last in passing yards allowed. The Hogs must find ways to get off the field against a balanced Aggies offense.
Offensively, the Razorbacks continue to shine, ranking third in the SEC in total offense, fourth in passing, and second in rushing. With wet conditions expected, the ground game could play a major role. However, turnovers have been a recurring issue for Arkansas. To have a chance against No. 4 Texas A&M, the Razorbacks must protect the football.
Hogs to Watch
Quarterback Taylen Green and running back Mike Washington Jr. will be key for the Hogs’ success. Washington is coming off a strong performance at Tennessee, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Another big outing from the SEC’s third-leading rusher could give the Hogs a boost.
Green has been electric this season, ranking third in the SEC in passing yards and fourth in rushing yards. If he can take care of the football, Arkansas’ offense has enough firepower to make this a competitive game in Fayetteville.
