Jonas Aidoo is a new face at Arkansas but a familiar one in the league. Here is everything SEC coaches, former teammates and other players had to say about the new Razorback big man at Media Day:

Well, we certainly enjoyed having Jonas, but again, that’s part of the game today when players decide they want to go in the portal and maybe see their value, what it’s worth. That’s what Jonas wanted to do.

And it has not affected my relationship with Cal or anybody else. It’s up to a player to make that decision. Just so happens he chose to stay in the league, and we’ll play against him once for sure, maybe more through the tournament.

Again, we appreciated what Jonas did for our program, and I’m sure he’ll do what Cal asks him to do there because he’s a guy that — he’s that kind of person, player. But regardless, in today’s world of where we are, when players leave and go wherever, we just move on and do what we need to do, and that’s what we do.

Lamont Paris – South Carolina

Well, the obvious, he’s long, athletic, he’s growing as a player. He’s been a fixture in this league. He’s obviously a valuable asset. I hate to talk about people as assets, but he’s a valuable asset to any organization at this level. I don’t know him as a person, but he seems to be a very competitive guy. Appears to be a good teammate.

I don’t know. They’re getting a long, athletic, developing offensive skill guy that’s very familiar with this league.

Mike White – Georgia

Yeah, skilled guy with a really good feel. He always appeared, in just evaluating him on film, that the game wasn’t too fast for him. Quick thinker, underrated passer, shot blocker and alterer with really good hands and really good touch around the rim. A really good SEC player. I think he’s Pre-Season All-League, which is about where it should be.

Johni Broome – Auburn

He’s a very skilled and talented big. He’s at Arkansas now, I think. That’ll be fun to go against him again for the third year. It will be fun for sure.

Zakai Zeigler – Tennessee

That’s my brother. Outside of basketball, I love Jonas. When we’re on that court, it’s us versus them. He’s a great guy first of all. He’s a great teammate. He was somebody that was always there for me. I tore my ACL, and he was one of those guys that was there for me for sure. On the court, he’s a really good scorer. He’s very versatile. Great rim protector. He’s an overall great player.

Jahmai Mashack – Tennessee

He’s a great player. Really good in the post. Really good defender at the rim. Good passer out of the post as well. Very versatile as far as defending the rim and getting from spot to spot. They’re getting a really good player and a good guy off the court for sure.
