What: Charity Exhibition Game to Benefit Children’s Hospitals in Arkansas and Kansas. This is one of several charity exhibition games CareSource is sponsoring that will benefit adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention initiatives.

  • The exhibition will consist of four, 10-minute quarters.
  • The game will feature two Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame coaches in John Calipari and Bill Self.
  • The game is sold out.
  • Parking is free and on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of a few protected lots.
  • Arkansas will donate proceeds from the charity exhibition game to Arkansas Children’s Hospitals. Also, Kansas will donate to Fore The Kids Foundation, a partner of Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
  • CareSource is sponsoring a series of charity exhibition matchups that benefit adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention initiatives, including Jay’s Light and other mental health organizations. Other games in the series this year include Ohio State at Cincinnati on Oct. 18 and Dayton hosting Xavier on Oct. 20.
  • Arkansas and Kansas have met on 14 previous occasions with the Jayhawks owning an 8-6 advantage. The Razorbacks have won the last two meetings, including a 72-71 victory in the 2023 NCAA Tournament to advance to the Sweet 16 and a 65-64 decision in the 2005 Maui Invitational. The last time Kansas came to Fayetteville was Dec. 6, 1986, when the Hogs defeated the sixth-ranked Jayhawks, 103-86.
  • Arkansas is 73-10 all-time in exhibition games, including a 64-9 mark at home. The Razorbacks have won 37 straight home exhibition contests.
  • The last time the Razorbacks and Jayhawks met, Arkansas earned a trip to the 2023 Sweet 16 with a 72-71 win over top-seeded Kansas at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Devo Davis was spectacular in the second half and Ricky Council IV was clutch down the stretch. Davis poured 21 second-half points, to help erase a 12-point deficit. After Davis fouled out late, Council sealed the victory by scoring 11 of the Hogs’ final 15 points, including the final five from the line. A Jordan Walsh 3-pointer with just under nine minutes remaining capped an 11-0 run and put Arkansas in front for the first time since scoring the game’s first points. The run set up a back-and-forth final stretch.
  • The last time Coach Cal face Kansas was last November when then #17 Kentucky and then #1 Kansas met in the Champions Classic in Chicago. Kansas won, 89-84. Hunter Dickinson had 27 points and 21 rebounds while Dajuan Harris Jr. added 23 points. Two current Razorbacks played for Kentucky in that game. Adou Thiero had a double-doubel (16 pts – 13 reb) and D.J. Wagner had 4 pts – 2 reb.
  • Coach Calipari is 5-9 versus Kansas all-time, 11 of the games came while at Kentucky and he had a 5-6 record. Five of the 11 meetings at UK were in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge with Kansas going 3-2 in those games.
