Arkansas (5-5) aims to secure bowl eligibility as it hosts Louisiana Tech (4-6) in Fayetteville on Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. CST. The Razorbacks are looking to rebound after losing three of their last four games.
This will mark the fifth meeting between the Razorbacks and Bulldogs since 1901, with Arkansas holding an undefeated record in the series. The last matchup was in 2016, when the Hogs narrowly defeated Louisiana Tech 21-20 in Fayetteville.
Key Players for Arkansas
Taylen Green, Quarterback
Green completed 17 of 25 passes for 149 yards in the Razorbacks’ last game against No. 3 Texas. Facing a tough Longhorns defense, he threw an interception off a dropped pass and was limited to -4 rushing yards on 16 carries. Green will need a strong performance against a Bulldogs defense that allows only 21 points and 302 yards per game.
Andrew Armstrong, Wide Receiver
Armstrong has been Green’s top target this season, leading the team with 61 receptions for 931 yards. The next closest receiver, Isaiah Sategna, has 31 catches for 431 yards. Armstrong has been a critical part of the Razorbacks’ passing game and will need to continue his production against Louisiana Tech.
Xavian Sorey Jr., Linebacker
Sorey leads the Razorbacks with 80 tackles this season. He recorded seven tackles, including two for loss, against Texas. The Bulldogs rushed for 209 yards in their win over Western Kentucky, so Sorey’s ability to stop the run and defend the pass will be essential.
Stephen Dix Jr., Linebacker
Dix is coming off a strong nine-tackle performance against Texas, one of his best games of the season. He ranks third on the team in tackles with 52 and has two sacks this season. Dix will play a key role alongside Sorey in containing Louisiana Tech’s offense.
Trends to Watch
Louisiana Tech boasts the fifth-best offense in Conference USA, averaging 345 yards per game, and the third-best passing offense at 232 yards per game. Freshman quarterback Evan Bullock has been efficient, completing 67.5% of his passes for 1,518 yards with 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions.
Arkansas, meanwhile, is looking to improve after totaling just 231 yards of offense in last week’s loss to Texas. Of those, 149 yards came through the air, and the Razorbacks managed only 82 rushing yards. Avoiding turnovers will be critical, as they have hurt the Hogs in key moments this season.
