Diamond Hogs Take Care of Business Against UCA

The Hogs continued their winning streak with a 9-2 victory over in-state opponent Central Arkansas. Once again, Arkansas relied on the long ball, with three batters hitting home runs against the Bears. The Razorbacks also extended their all-time record against UCA to 6-0.

Game Summary

After a scoreless first inning, Brent Iredale got things rolling for the Hogs in the second inning with a two-run homer to take the lead. In the following inning, Kuhio Aloy followed up Iredale’s home run with a two-run shot of his own, pushing the lead to 4-0. The Bears responded with a run in the fourth inning to make it 4-1.

Arkansas quickly extended its lead in the bottom of the fourth, beginning with a two-RBI single from Iredale. Cam Kozeal capped off the inning with a three-run homer to make it 9-1. Despite being outhit 7-6 by the Bears, Arkansas cruised to a comfortable 9-2 win. The Hogs are now 16-1 on the season and have won 12 straight games.

Who Stood Out for the Hogs

Brent Iredale, who drove in 11 runs over the weekend against Portland, continued his strong performance at the plate by going 2 for 2 with four RBI, a home run, and two walks. Iredale briefly took the team lead in home runs before Aloy’s homer in the third tied the two atop the leaderboard.Cam Kozeal also had a productive day at the plate, finishing 2 for 3 with three RBI, a home run, and a walk.

On the mound, Colin Fisher made his second start of the season and impressed in three scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit, struck out three batters, and did not issue a walk. Fisher threw 25 strikes on 39 pitches and has now allowed only one run in 11 innings this season.

Looking Ahead for the Hogs

Arkansas will hit the road to start SEC play, traveling to Oxford, Mississippi, to face No. 13 Ole Miss from March 14-16. All three games will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
