The Hogs held off a second-half comeback from South Carolina to win 72-68 in the SEC Tournament. The Razorbacks notched their 20th win of the season and may have solidified their spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Game Summary
South Carolina came out hot, hitting its first three 3-pointers of the game. Unlike their last matchup against the Gamecocks, the Razorbacks were able to knock down shots early. In a back-and-forth start, Arkansas took the lead with 9:15 left in the first half thanks to Johnell Davis. After taking the lead, the Razorbacks closed the half on a 24-9 run. This would give Arkansas a 47-30 advantage into the break. The Hogs shot efficiently, hitting 54.8% from the field, 38.5% from 3-point range and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line.
Arkansas extended its lead to 20 early in the second half. On the other sideline with their season on the line, the Gamecocks fought back. The Razorbacks hit a dry spell, going without a field goal for nearly 12 minutes after a Billy Richmond III jumper with 14:18 left. South Carolina cut the lead to 61-60 before Arkansas made some gritty plays down the stretch to hold on for the 72-68 win.
Who Stood Out for the Hogs
In a game where the Razorbacks needed their bigs to step up, they delivered against a South Carolina. The Gamecocks bullied the Hogs in the paint in the last matchup.
Trevon Brazile did everything he could to help the Hogs hang on. He finished with a team-high 16 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the floor, 3 of 6 from beyond the arc and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line. He also contributed seven rebounds, four steals and a block in 38 minutes.
Jonas Aidoo recorded his second straight double-double, scoring 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting, including 2 of 2 from the foul line. He added 11 rebounds, a steal and a block in 25 minutes.

Arkansas has a quick turnaround and will face Ole Miss on March 13 at noon CST at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will air on SEC Network.
